Although Mitchell is identified as being the property of the Houston club, he is also wearing a Jacksonville Suns uniform and cap. The Suns were in 1996 a Double affiliate of the Tigers in the Southern League. Behind Mitchell--who compiled a 312 average with 41 RBI's--Bubba Trammell--who was one of the three SL All-Star outfielders--and Frank Catalanotto--who was the league's All-Star Second Baseman--the Suns took their division in both halves and won the league championship
